Unite the Union call for a specialist SFO financial fraud unit at Labour conference
Monday, 1 October 2012
New suggestions have reached the Serious Fraud Office as Labour’s new desire is a dedicated specialist unit to tackle financial fraudulent crime.
Originating from Unite and discussed at the recent Labour conference in Manchester, the trade union urges the unit is established and moreover, any bankers caught breaking a tough new code of conduct should be dismissed.
Emphasising how corrupt bankers are still a concerning issue, Labour called these individuals “reckless and irresponsible”, and thus have a serious impact on our current economy.
Amongst assertions for a new unit and harder sanctions for corrupt bankers, the motion also supported one British Banks’ aims, including the pursuit of regional industrial policies.
