Cheshire Constabulary start a recruitment drive for new PCSOs
Wednesday, 4 December 2013
Cheshire constabulary has announced a recruitment drive for new Police Community Support Officers. Cheshire currently employs 200 PSCSOs and is looking for more as Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer pledged to ‘enhance front line policing’.
John Dwyer stated:"I am delighted that we are able to recruit new staff. Feedback that I have received from the public tells me that that they really value the contribution that PCSOs make to neighbourhood policing".
"I think that people now understand the difference between Police Community Support Officers and police officers and it is their ability to spend time out and about on the streets engaging with the community and solving local problems that has a huge impact on people′s feelings of safety"
"I encourage people from all of Cheshire′s diverse communities to apply for the role."
The campaign to recruit for PSCOSs follows closely on from the recruitment drive to recruit more volunteer Special Constables to the Constabulary.
Cheshire Constabulary will be hosting an interactive online Q&A session between 7-8pm on Thursday 5th December for anyone with questions about the role or recruitment process.
Applications open on Monday 9th of December and anyone interested in becoming a PCSO please click here for more information.
